Being Watched Over

Hey everyone!

I hope y'all had a very Happy Thanksgiving! It was a good one for all of us in Hilliard. We were able to enjoy dinner with the Bishop and his family and also another member of the ward, the Rasmussen's. They made us feel very welcome and right at home. I didn't over eat too much so feeling pretty good ha ha.

It's been a very interesting week with the students mostly gone for the break. We still were able to teach a lot of new people even though we don't have new investigators. We are trying to keep up our faith to have a great next transfer:) The Elders in our ward met a young lady named Epiphany and she came to church yesterday. She's wonderful! We sat with her through Relief Society and then we all went over to a member's home for dinner and lesson with her. She accepted a baptismal invitation! It was a great team effort teaching with the Hilliard Elders.

However, on the way home we had a pretty misfortunate event. ALL IS WELL AND ALL IS OK, but we were in a car accident. We were crossing the intersection to our apartment complex. We had been stopped and the light just turned green. We slowly started across the intersection and were t-boned and spun into another car waiting to turn left. When we stopped we both looked at one another and everything was ok. My car door was crunched in and my side air bags were deployed. The lights were flashing and and things were white and smokey from the airbags. The young man who hit us is ok too. No one was hurt. We were just a little shaken and shocked. We walked away with some bangs and bruises and my left upper arm is scratched up pretty good. But considering all that could have happend we were extremely blessed. I KNOW that God protected all of us. I immediately said a prayer in my heart as a gratitude for sparing my life and those around me. Everything worked out just fine. We had a family come over and give us a priesthood blessing and we have been pretty calm about the whole thing. We were able to chat with everyone and exchange names. We gave them pass along cards. Please no one call the mission office because all is well! I love you and bear you my solemn testimony that Jesus Christ lives and that there are Heavenly Hosts that watch over us in our times of need. I have been thanking my Heavenly Father for my life over and over and over. It makes me want to live the best each day.

Love,

Sis. Erickson
