Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone~

This last week was just wonderful. We had a lot of success and a lot of good things are going on in North Wilkesboro. First off, we had 6 investigators make it to church yesterday. 3 of them were the Speece boys. They are 13, 12, and 10. Their grandparents and mom are members but have been inactive for years. They requested a missionary visit because the boys were asking religious questions they didn't remember how to answer. They're just so cute. They have bright red hair:) Their mom came to church yesterday with them. It was awesome. They helped the YM empty trash cans afterwards and were saying they were excited for next week. We have another appointment with them tonight. They have a baptismal date for May 28th!!! Ben and his fiance Deloris still come. Ben is still doing well, he will just take a while to progress to baptism, but we teach him every now and then.

David Hood is an awesome investigator. We had a miracle happen with him this week. He's a single man who lives in a trailor. He works 2nd shift and so we usually meet with him in the mornings and it's hard to always get a member to come out with us. So a lot of times we meet with him on his porch. It was raining this last week when we were supposed to go and see him. He said he would be ok to stand out in the rain with us anyway. So we all stood out there with umbrellas and had a lesson. He gave us a little "book report" on what we had asked him to read which was 3 Nephi 11. At the end of it he said he needed and wanted to be baptized!!!

We had also given him a word of wisdom pamphlet and he read that and said he couldn't be baptized because he was too addicted to smoking. He'd give up tea and coffey and alchohol no big deal, but he couldn't stop smoking. We told him about the stop smoking lesson that we have that was designed by missionaries and he's so excited. Getting baptized June 4th! It was so awesome. We rolled down the windows in the car on the way home and shouted to the world that David was getting baptized.

I love being a missionary, even when it's hard and tiring, which is just about every day. When little moments like that happen you remember how great is your calling!

Love y'all

Sis. Erickson
