Jordan's first convert baptism, Jamie!!

Sister Flynn, Jamie (the new convert) and Sister Jordan

Hey Yall,

It's been another fast and great week in Dobson! My best news of the week was that our investigator Jamie got baptized on Saturday! It was a great day. Holy cow though did Satan try to work on us. Sis. Flynn and I were running around like headless chickens trying to get everything all set up. Johnny Glass had helped us make a program on his laptop. We called him Saturday morning so we could print it off. He had gone out of town to Virginia to take some siblings back to college. So we had to break in their house...just kidding we have a key... and get on the computer. Then we couldn't find the printer. So after about 20 minutes of searching we called him again. Oh yeah they don't have a printer!-he told us after all that. Luckily I had a flash drive that we saved it on and then took it to another members home to print it. Then back to the church to make copies! One task down! Also Jamie is a larger man so we tried to find him a jump suit to wear. We had one in the closet in the library! It was big but we weren't quite sure it would be the best. So we called the Elders in Mt. Airy (Where the Andy Griffith show was based off of, "Mayberry") a town about 15 minutes north of us. Well they had left their keys to their church building somewhere. So we went to pick the Elders up, drove around to find a member who had a key, went to their church, found out that was the wrong key. By this time we have about a half hour until we're supposed to meet Jamie! We called him to see if he had any white clothing. He said he had basketball shorts and a basketball shirt. Did that mean a jersey? We had no clue. Jamie can't get baptized in a sleeveless jersey and shorts! We were trying to call our zone leaders to see if that would be ok because we had nothing else. In the meantime the Elders dashed into wal mart to buy a plain white t shirt for him. We sped back to the church to meet with Jamie. Nothing worked! Luckily Bro. Bartley brought a big white button up shirt of his and we found some white pants! Saved:) Then his wife and kids didn't come because she apparently had a headache! So sad:( His mother-in-law was really sad about that. But he still wanted to do it and that's exactly what we did:) Everything turned out great despite me playing songs on the piano I wasn't too familar with:) Jamie got baptized and the Lord provided a way. It turned out to be an awesome day and everyone was really happy after things got started. I had a killer headache! I ate lots of treats to help though:)

Our other investigator Helen, is so cute. She calls us her girls and loves for us to come visit. She really wants to get baptized but she is rather old and can't make it to church very much. So pray for her:) It'll work out. She's great.

One of the members here went to school with Sandra Bullock! yes, she did. We saw her yearbook and she had written a note in there. She signed it Sandy B. Ha ha so cute it's like grease. She said that Sandra Bullock is exactly like she is in real life like she is on tv.

Interesting note, Pres. and Sis. Thomas were asked to serve a mission by Pres. Uchtdorf. Cool! I'd say yes too. I love them. I hope everyone is doing well and I appreciate your love and support and prayers in my behalf. I couldn't do it without yall. Until next week, fare thee well!

Love, Sis. Erickson
